From process engineering to senior leadership
His professional history began in process engineering roles at Descon Engineering in 1992. Subsequent responsibilities included boilers, water and effluent treatment, utilities and environmental engineering, and product engineering. At JGC-Descon, his roles included Principal Engineer Process, Engineering Manager and Team Leader Engineering Proposals & Contracts.
Proposal, engineering and technical leadership
Later roles included Head EPC Proposals, Head Process Engineering, Head Design & Commercial for EPC Power, Manager Engineering and leader of the Technology Group. From January 2022 to September 2024 he served as Head EPC Business Development & Package Equipment at Descon Engineering, followed by Technical Consultant in the EPC Technical Department from October 2024 to June 2026. These are prior career roles, not GulfAxis project appointments.
Education and professional registration
Abdus Samad holds a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering (1990) and a Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering (1995), both from the University of Engineering & Technology, Lahore.
